Cupping has been around for thousands of years and traces its roots to ancient Chinese and Egyptian medicine.  Cupping was documented in one of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, Ebers Papyrus, which was written in 1550 BC.  

Cupping helps to mobilize and release deeper adhesions, trigger points, and "knots" by discharging the micro toxins that have accumulated in the deeper muscle fibers.  Micro toxins are a byproduct of the body living with prolonged pain. This often results in areas of reduced function within a muscle that cannot be released by massage alone.

Drinking plenty of water to flush the system is an important part of any therapeutic body work, and with this treatment even more so. Cupping usually feels great and can be very effective. But it often leaves visible suction bruises for a week or more, and you may feel unexpectedly tired afterwards.
